CAVS EVEN SERIES WITH WIN:
   It was the Cleveland Cavaliers turn Sunday to control the game. 
The Cavs evened their best-of-seven NBA Eastern Conference final 
with the Chicago Bulls at 2-2 with a 99-85 win. Larry Nance had 22 
points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots and Craig Ehlo had 21 
points. The series continues Wednesday at Chicago. "We just have 
to go back, and defend our home court," said Michael Jordan.
    
GRAF WINS OPENING MATCH:
   No. 2 Steffi Graf opened her bid for a third French Open title 
with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Rene Simpson-Alter Monday. A 
late-afternoon thunderstorm forced the suspension of several 
feature matches, including No. 3 Pete Sampras vs. Marc Rosset and 
No. 5 Jennifer Capriati vs. Austria's Beate Reinstadler. Sampras 
led 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-4, 3-6, 4-2; Capriati led 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 
2-1.
    
STANLEY CUP FINAL STARTS TUESDAY:
   The NHL's Stanley Cup final gets under way Tuesday with the 
Chicago Blackhawks visitng the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 
Blackhawks, on an NHL-record playoff 11-game winning streak, will 
aim to slow down Penguins star Mario Lemieux. "We've got to hit 
him," Blackhawks center Jeremy Roenick said. But Penguins right 
wing Rick Tocchet said they're not going to let anyone get to 
Lemieux.
