Hiroshi Yamauchi, president of Japan's Nintendo Co., Ltd. will have a limited role. Commissioner Fay Vincent said Yamauchi's role will be limited to "the realm of extraordinary events." Formal approval is expected Thursday. SANDBERG LEADS NL VOTING: The Chicago Cubs' Ryne Sandberg, the National League's leading All-Star vote-getter the last two seasons, leads in the early going this season. Sandberg leads NL second basemen with 333,630 votes. Pittsburgh's Barry Bonds has 270,000 to lead outfielders. The All-Star Game is July 14 at San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium. NL starters will be announced June 30. NBA FINALS TO RESUME: The Portland Trail Blazers will try to tie things up, while the Chicago Bulls hope to move one game from another championship as the NBA Finals resumes. The Bulls travel to Portland Wednesday leading the best-of-seven series 2-1. Chicago's Michael Jordan says, "I think the pressure is really on them now." Game 5 will also be in Portland, with the final two games in Chicago if needed. SUTTER NEW BRUINS COACH: Brian Sutter was named the new coach of the Boston Bruins Tuesday, a day after Rick Bowness was fired. Last month, Brian Sutter was fired by the St. Louis Blues, a year after he was the league's coach of the year.
