Texas 5, Seattle 3 SPORTS SHORTS: BLAZERS EVEN NBA FINALS: The Portland Trail Blazers evened the best-of-seven NBA Finals at 2-2 with a 93-88 win Wednesday over the Chicago Bulls. The win snapped a four-game home losing streak in NBA Finals for the Blazers, dating to the 1989-90 series against the Detroit Pistons. Portland trailed the entire game before taking the lead with just over three minutes remaining. Game 5 is Friday in Portland. OWNERS APPROVE SALE SEPARATELY: Though the official joint vote is not until Thursday, American and National League owners, meeting separately Wednesday, overwhelmingly approved sale of the Seattle Mariners to the Japanese-led Baseball Club of Seattle. The sale will be finalized in about a month. "There were no serious objections," said AL President Bobby Brown. OLYMPIC PRACTICE SQUAD PICKED: USA Basketball picked eight top collegians Wednesday to practice against the NBA-led U.S. Olympic basketball team. The squad has two members of two-time national champion Duke, Bobby Hurley and Grant Hill. The other six: Memphis State's Anfernee Hardaway, Tennessee's Allan Houston, Kentucky's Jamal Mashburn, North Carolina's Eric Montross, Wake Forest's Rodney Rogers and Michigan's Chris Webber.
