Chairman's Report: jbarnold: I'm back. We have new people, so we should do introductions. We're having tours this Wednesday and the Hackathon this Saturday. [we do introductions] MIT Computing Report: tabbott: There was a mail quota increase from 500MB to 1GB sometime this past week. SIPB Projects Report: jbarnold: scripts new hardware was ordered last week and it arrived. The only part that wasn't from Newegg was DOA (it was from GovConnection because of MIT purchasing policy). The replacement will hopefully be here soon. jbarnold: We have a new scripts wiki at scripts.mit.edu/wiki. It links to an issue tracker. We'll soon have source code for people to view. austein: Ask SIPB published every day last week. We'll have one next week on "How to Use the Printers". xsdg: I compiled The Gimp for Sun. It's out of date, so I'll build the new one soon. Office Report: jmorzins: It's still here. tabbott: It hasn't been flooded this summer. Office Cleaning Report: Publications Report: jbarnold: There are new Athena Pocket Guides and clustercards both in the back and in the rack in the front. CokeComm Report: tabbott: We're out of coke and sprite as a result of the midway. jbarnold: If you buy some at Midway, Erin will reimburse you later. She'll restock next weekend. Orientation Report: jbarnold: There are tours this Wednesday at 7pm in Lobby 7. Tours last 3 hours. At 10, jis will tell stories in 4-231. We're visiting w91, w92, n42, CSAIL, and the Media Lab. jbarnold: On Saturday, the Hackathon starts at 2 and goes until we get tired. jbarnold: We distributed 142 cans of soda at the midway. jbarnold: At the end of the meeting, the people who are new should stick around and we'll do a longer SIPB introduction. IAP Report: jbarnold: We need an IAP sucker. We run these courses during IAP and we need someone to coordinate them. Other: xsdg: Python is painful. xsdg: Reuse is good.
