Project Updates

ezyang:  Scripts Fedora 15~~~~ is now in testing period! Please help us
make this a successful transition.  [three high fives]  [achernya: In
other news, Fedora 16 is being released tomorrow.]

afarrell: IAP is sooner than you think.  Please teach classes!

vzh: IAP may be sooner than you think, but cluedumps is in its eighth week.
Room 3-133, where Keith will be talking about the conflict between
Frequentists and Bayesians.  duncant is organizing a PGP keysigning party
for the week afterwards.  [zhangc: IAP doesn't even have eight weeks!]

jhawk: csw reports another machine on the network is using your IP address.

geofft: We should have a hackathon.  [dwilson: Talk to the vice chair!]
Next weekend is splash, the weekend after is Thanksgiving; how 'bout this

quentin: The Internet exploded today.  A valid, BGP update was sent out, which
caused all Juniper MX series routers to crash, simultaneously. Whee. Most significantly,
it affected Level 3 in the US, which had a complete outage. Time Warner and Blackberry
went down.  [bbaren: How long was the outage?]  9:15AM this morning, and as far
as the public statements, it was a several minute outage.  [kaduk: Did any customers
of Juniper routers get outed?]

dwilson: Windows XP is ten years old. [zhangc: Exactly?] Slightly more.
