Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 2014-07-07


The meeting was called to order by dove at 19:30.

In attendance were

Administrivia

- dvorak42: allocate $180 for a 4-terabyte hard drive for storing papers from DEFCON
* seconded, white ballotted after wanking

- vasilvv: allocate $320 for 4 1-terabyte hard drives for SIPB services, 2 for RAID
  and 2 for spares
- quentin: there's a standing allocation for spare hard drives, so I suggest 2 2-terabyte
  drives
- dvorak42: amend to $200 for 2 drives of whatever we actually need [the actual value
  could end up lower]
* seconded, white ballotted

- tthoma24: MIT's Atlas is being redesigned. Apparently this is good?

Project Reports
===============
- dove: the door sensor was moved to the raspberry pi, 100 ms resolution, other
  improvements were pushed. Don't play with the wiring even if they come undone,
  they can be dangerous

- dzaefn: there is now a new interface for the door. It's at http://shoutkey.com/toast
  if you want to see it. There's also a github at http://shoutkey.com/martial

- vahle: what about the machine room getting cleaned up?
- dove: no news. [after being asked] relevant email list is sipb-machine-room@mit.edu
