[quiet] vasilvv: all full members in favor of nomination please raise your hands [all four present raise hands - asuhl arrived after this] vasilvv: any oppositions? vasilv: candidates please talk to me after this so we can schedule elections. dove: I was expecting more people present today. tthoma24: in light of some interactions I’ve seen on sipb@ recently, it might be a good idea for us to make sibp@mit.edu an RT queue. vasilvv: this has been raised before, please bring it up on sipb-office@mit.edu tthoma24: I will send mail to that list re: making sipb@ an RT queue. Project Updates =============== tthoma24: cluedump, is still happening this week? asuhl: yes, it is happening? at a place and time: sparrow_: 4-321 @ 7pm on wednesday. achernya: how are you keysigning? with what protocol? asuhl: It’s not a keysigning party, it’s a cluedump on how to use keys. There will be a keysigning party later. vasilvv: anything else for project reports? achernya: So this weekend, I found myself annoyed at the state of dynamic DNS in the world, and I found myself further annoyed that the SIPB DNS service doesn’t offer this feature, so I’m starting an investigation to see if we can start a new SIPB project with much larger scope than the original SIPB DNS to leverage MIT’s current Akamai contract to set up a cloud-scale DNS. If this is something that you’re interested in, please talk to me so we can form a team and create a design doc. Then, when we contact IS&T and say “hey this is a thing we want to build” they know what we’re trying to do. jhawk: so Alex, how does that relate to dynamic DNS? achernya: I want to offer dynamic DNS as one of the services. jhawk: Okay, so it’s sort of a project. Other ===== tthoma24: macGPG is now going to cost a small fee to download starting with the 10.10 version of its release. The fee will include updates, and be charged per-update. asuhl: The source code is still open, you can compile it yourself. tthoma24: they discourage you from doing that, obviously. asuhl: To clarify, this is just for the plugin for Apple Mail. The rest of the tool is still free as in freedom and also as in beer. tthoma24: but they want a small donation if you’re going to use the applemail version. Other Other ========== sparrow_: There are two days off for the federal holiday for MIT students: today and tomorrow. meeting adjourned at 7:39. Minutes taken and submitted by sparrow_.
