Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 2017-08-07


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by bpchen.

In attendance were

        bpchen: Wow! (at gavel sound) Welcome to the SIPB meeting! 

Project Reports:

        andersk: This video came to the attention of scripts root today. This is what happens when you leave passwords in public github repositories. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIROcnhLJSw)
        
        andersk: We reset passwords and notified all of these users about this. 
        
        cela: Are we sure we got all people with passwords found? 
        
        andersk: We got all the ones in the video. We're looking for other cases which we'll reset later. 
        
        cela: Hyades continues. It needs help, but it continues nevertheless. 
        
        andersk: sipbmp3 isn't cutting off songs anymore. 
        
        bpchen: Are there more plans to put the thing under version control?
        
        andersk: Yeah, it was under version control, but it'll be put back under version control. 
        
        andersk: CertAssist supports more browsers now, like Internet Explorer, Edge, and Safari. 

Other:  

        khaines: Rush is sooner than people think. Things are supposed to happen. I don't know when associations are allowed to start advertising doing stuff. 
        
        bpchen: Are you rush czar? 
        
        khaines: I think I'm default rush czar. Information would be helpful. 
        
        madars: How do I get events that have the opposite of only vegan food? 
        
        andersk: I think you want mitBEEF. 
        
        cela: You might not get reimbursed for that. 
        
        madars: Well, mitBEEF gets reimbursed for that. 
        
        dukhovni: Yubico want to give us yubikeys. We should figure out what to do with them. 
        
        cela: Hyades has 4 different uses for Yubikeys. 
        
        dzaefn: What? 
        
        cela: Would you like me to list them? 
        
        dzaefn: Yes. 
        
        cela: Roughly speaking, admitting servers to the cluster and bootstrapping, storing for certificate authorities, recovery keys that allow sshing into the cluster, and second factor keys for Hyades root and other Hyades maintainers. Or just making sure all have second factor. 

Other Other:

        dzaefn: Because the recycling company is now angry, the Stata Loading Dock cruft pile is no longer available to students, and students found crufting will be prosecuted.
