In attendance were         Student keyholders: cjq, jmvidal, mitimmy         Associate keyholders: agrebe, amigdal, markchil         Members: aayushg, almonds, alwinfy, califyn, guoj1112, kbrought, vivekab, xy, yourym         Guests: '() Administrivia:         cjq: propose an allocation of $150 for a hackathon next friday? [talks]                 alwinfy: doesn't sound like much of a hackathon                 cjq: no, it's just an excuse to hang out in the office                 [passes with white ballot] Project Reports:         jmvidal: hwops continues. we are continuing to inventory on the servers that we have, a few more to go. we're starting the uplink server this wednesday at 5pm, work party's on the calendar. as always we have a meeting at 5pm on friday.                 cjq: docs is working on updating the sipb front page, then other related pages. you can join the #docs channel in mattermost and comment on the doc. Other:         almonds: we got an email to sipb@mit.edu about updating ppat.mit.edu. i replied offering help. i've noticed he's been updating it apparently? and it seems to have gotten a little bit broken since i last checked. but he hasn't replied back.                 jmvidal: apple is making relevant strides to make the siri activation command to be "siri" and not "hey siri".                 alwinfy: what happens if siri comes up in conversation?                 jmvidal: more accidental activations. they haven't done it yet since they're working to make sure it doesn't happen that often, but it probably will still happen a lot.                 vivekab: i'm vivek, i already graduated and am here to pitch interstellar. the code is in decent shape but there's maintenance work that needs to be done every semester to run a script to scrape new classes to the website, and pubbing work so people know it actually exists. there's a lot of room to improve the app, whether it's adding more features, making it more well-known, it is nice to know what classes your friends are in. the certs expired 18 days ago. i don't actually know how the project works.                 guoj1112: what's the stack?                 vivekab: it's a react app.                 cjq: where is it hosted?                 vivekab: heroku.                 cjq: if i am interested in helping, what should i do?                 vivekab: you should reach out to me and i can put you in touch with everyone else who helped make it. i'm also going to make a mattermost channel on #interstellar. if you have experience through web.lab it should be not too bad to onboard and help.                 almonds: how does it work if you don't have a sponsor and want to join the mattermost?                 vivekab: what is a sponsorship?                 almonds: it keeps your kerberos activated; i'm working with my advisor to publish a paper.                 cjq: cool, if we want to make interstellar a sipb project eventually we probably want to get it hosted on scripts.                 amigdal [in chat]: host everything on hyades! coming soon™                 cjq: do we know who is maintaining mattermost? we've been getting a lot of questions.                 mitimmy: efjepsen? could be wrong. Other Other:         agrebe: election day is sooner than you think!                 jmvidal: pikachu is closer than you think!                 cjq: it was not, in fact, closer than i thought.                 almonds: can i get like a mentor in sipb to talk about what goes on? i've kinda just like shown up in meetings, just in general, or schedule a one-time thing? i could just ask this on the mattermost.                 mitimmy: what are you thinking of scheduling?                 almonds: to talk with someone who's been here for a while?                 alwinfy: like a briefing for new members?                 almonds: that'd be cool.                 jmvidal: i think one of the best ways might be to contact maintainers specifically on projectsdb, like individual emails listed there. like sipb project database website, it's on the main page.                 cjq: sipb is quite decentralized, usually you come in wanting to work on something specific and ask the maintainers about how to help.                 amigdal [in chat]: "do-ocracy". The meeting was adjourned at 19:46.         Minutes taken and submitted by cjq.
