Minutes of the meeting of 10/24/77.

Meeting was called to order at 18:16 (due to the
Carl Sagan lecture later).

In attendance:  DCH, CRD, KHG, RDM, RK, OTA, DAS, DLW, CWH, KLE, DAM, LSP, BSG, BEE, RLL,
Alan, GMP, SAS, RMS, CAH, HIC, LH, and archy.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

370 report:  VM did not come up.  (Motion to terminate all services, declared
out of order by the chairman) IPS may flush Cambridge Memories.

Multics report:  Honeywell looks like they are going to support Multics.
There is supposed to be a hardware announcement this week.  Public_Library
was moved to >udd.  general_ready will soon compute charges correctly.  (EAK came
in sometime during this...)

Publications:  New SIPB card made by CBF.  We will try to get it published.

IAP report:  We turned in two IAP course offerings, BSG's LISP course and
Taking Advantage of Multics.

Telecommunications report:  TPC went to MacGregor, but still seems to be down.
Letters should be sent to living groups.

Elections:  Coke elections were held amid much confusion.

Other:  Tighten up office procedures.  Loosen up office almbda expresions and divide
all ofice integers by 47.

More elections:  Nominated for membership are HIC, RLL, and CAH.
All were voted in.

Applications:  $535 autoed, $150 given, $500 deferred, $685 total.

Kalb:  $75 to learn Multics.  Has possible alternative source, but it is
very limited.  Given $50.

Anderson:  $75 for Physics Lab data analysis.  Given.

Bernard:  $500 for analysis of jury selection in Boston area.  No other
funding source.  Will check with Burner.  Deferred until further research.
