Minutes of the SIPB Meeting
		of 07 June 1982

	The meeting was called to order at 19:30 EDT 
		by Richard Kovalcik, Jr.
	
In attendance were:  naha, ED, J9, ZRM, HGA, GMP, DCP, JSL, RK, barmar,
	Penny.
		
Late were: NIL.

	The minutes of the meeting of 31 May 1982 were read
and accepted as corrected.

	Treasurer's Report:
Nothing resembling a treasurer or ex-treasurer is in the office.

	Chairman's Report:
Nothing resembling a chair or ex-chair is in the office.

The freshmen letter is completed and is at Beane, awaiting pick up and a check.

	Office Report:
The office PL/I manual was in the TVI room and is now where it belongs.

A package for WER arrived from Bartlett.  RK and HGA opened it to find a
prestige elite 12 A type wheel.  RK went back and got a prestige elite 12 B
type wheel.

SIPB member policy is on the blackboard.  Please comment.

	Computer Services:
Discussion of what constitutes a computer in the office.

Barmar talked with Dorothy Corbett about allowing students to take IPS courses
for free (without charge to us).  Unfortunately, this will only apply to IAP
courses.

The clean-up was done.

	Telecommunications Report:

Nothing has been done with the Student Center line yet.

Nothing has been done about the microwave link yet either.

A terminal and a VADIC is now in MacGregor.

McCormick has a phone without a VADIC. This is the right thing according to
a note on the board.

barmar will try to find someone who lives in East Campus.

East Campus's VADIC and terminal are still here.
McCormick's VADIC is still here.

Denny came with the property stickers.  Barmar offered to take personal
responsibility for the stickers, but Denny would trust nobody except WER with
them.

Capital Equipment order: The UDS 212 equivalents were ordered last week.  It
is not known whether the other stuff has been ordered yet by CBF.

New House VADIC is losing. Barmar would like to swap with a VADIC in the
office.  It must be done at the right time of day.

	Publications Report:
Five EMACS addenda are still in the office.

	Annual-Report Report:
WER still hasn't done anything and neither has anyone else.

	R/O Report:
Nothing has happened.

	Other:
This meeting is boring--GMP.

	Applications:

Daily Confusion would like to have an account for the summer as a backup, in
case JCF fails (where they will be doing most of their text editing).  Penny
would like to defer it until 1 July.  Decided. Somebody should call the UASO.

No other applications.

DCP, naha, WMY, DMK graduated.  TZS got one degree.

barmar had an accident with his car.  Bumper lossage.

J9 sold her car and drove it across the street to the new owner.

Star Trek II came out last week.  A discussion of Vulcans and Romulans
   followed.

E.T. will open this week.

HGA's sister arrived on a plane today.  RK and HGA picked her up. There
was much amusement at the meeting.

Barmar started working at CISL today.
