SIPB Meeting Minutes on Aug. 13,1984

Meeting not called to order at 7:30PM because the chairman went to 
dinner just before 7:30.

Aya, Lee and bcn just sit around and Aya did some clean up of the
office like a good office chairman should do.

RF comes in at 7:50.

Meeting called to order.

Treasurer's Report:

	No Treasurer.

Chairman's Report:

	No Chairman.

Vice-Chairman's Report:

	Pretty much the same as the chairman's report except
that Vice-Chairman's here.

Office Report:

	Office is here.
	Office Chairman's here.
The office chairman decided to buy flowers just before R/O week.
Vice Chairman wonders  how many hours of last week was manned.

Athena Report:

	New version of Rogue installed on Charon.  Several SIPB
members attended to the stuff meeting of Athena the other day.  People
(SIPB members) are allowed to come to the meeting if they want.
The only interesting issue was the privacy issue.  They are going to ask
the users if they want their files protected, i.e. if they want to be
fascists or not.

	2.10 and 100 are actually going to be on the system next fall.

	Bill Gimbel comes in, Yay!!

 Notes was brought up.  Much talking about Athena terminal rooms.

R/O Report:

	Bill and Aya are going to do all the things that have to be done 
for the tour this coming week.  We are also going to try and get a drop poster
and a table at the Midway.

Telecommunication:

	Bill and Aya brought a fixed terminal to McGregor.  We have
to pick up some terminals.  Aya  needs lots of help!!  Cliff offers
help, yay!!  Cliff, RF and Aya will do it tomorrow night.  
We are going to have a preliminary smoke filled room meeting about the 
sale of the terminals at next Monday's meeting.  Terminal fees for next term
are going to be waived, (They will only have the terminals for a month before
they will be sold.)

Computer Services:

	We are giving money whenever asked.  

Other:

	Aya proposes to get a Bay Banks card if Bay Banks can make
it so we can't withdraw any amount of money.  It would be convinient
to deposit all the checks in Lobby 10.
