Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 8603.03


	The meeting was called to order at 19:32.5 by spook.
	
	In attendance were 
		Voting members: bcn, wesommer, holtzman, spook, plj, stan
(physically only), chariot, wcs, theschun, amy
		Associate members: cathy
		Prospectives: Adam Kao, Brian Wolfe, livia, Mike Weize

	Treasurer's Report:

      Student Spending:  Month-to-date: $    350.02
                         Year-to-date:  $ 31,696.53

      SIPB/SIPBADMIN Spending:    MTD:  $    146.16
                                  YTD:  $ 28,558.63

	Chairman's Report:

Not a heck 'o a lot, though he'll probably think of a few random things later
on.  Questions to Livia: she likes Chinese food, she thinks she can give out a
Multics account.  She wants to become a member because: so as to be more like
Pat, for the diet cokes, to learn to help.  She does not specify exactly learn
what.  [Non-members leave] She's fun to have around the office, she's a
student of Stan's.  Holtzman: "What's your view on SDI?" Discussion about the
large number of responses in panama.  Unanimous positive vote for Livia by
voting members.

	Office Report:

Office may need some documentation: RF is responsible for 1 page laserwriter
guide and the new policy statement.  Office is also a mess.  spook: who is
Carol Web?  Why does she have the supposed private number to mintues?  It
seems as if quite a few people know it.  Henry will hack a password.  plj
motions that we do whatever is necessary to get 258-SIPB as the phone number
of the modem lines in W20.  Motion seconded by henry and carried.  Phone
that was brought in didn't fit the lines that they were going to test.
Peter Kelly or Leo Ryan needs to bugged about that.  [Tim walks in 1949.8]


	Athena Report:

An incremental release went out; we need to pick it up soon.  Concerning
suggestion box: Tim and spook will meet with Jackie Stewart next Monday
afternoon.  [Rdz walks in late.  He brings a frobb] Athena seems to have set
long term goals without setting short term ones (i.e.  printers are needed
now).  plj got a mesg from staff That next house will be one of the first to
get a cluster.

	Computer Services:

wesommer has gotten no responses back yet about the laserwriter: if no
objections arrive by tomorrow, he will install it.  He will also announce it.
We had 8-10 people getting Multics accounts today.

	Telecommunications Report:

pww is not here.  Clarification: la36's to surplus; nothing has been decided
on h19's.

	Publications Report:

Need more.

VI-A open house tonight and interviews tomorrow.

	Other Other:

Henry was locked out of his appartment and his roomate is not home.  Poor
lonely henry will be hacking a lot tonight.
It's a funny-strange phenomena that when you are supposed to take minutes it
isn't as much fun, especially when you have to kneel on the floor to do it.

	The meeting was adjourned at 2002.7.
