Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 8607.28


	The meeting was called to order at 19:32 by spook.
						
	In attendance were

	Treasurer's Report:

      Student Spending:  Month-to-date: $   2730.20
                         Year-to-date:

      SIPB/SIPBADMIN Spending:    MTD:  $   2870.14
                                  YTD:

Official cutoff dates are 9/1/86, 2/1/87, 7/1/87.  Give alumni extensions
until 9/1/86, after that they should be paying real money. 

	Chairman's Report:

IS wants to do a 300 word insert about the SIPB for this September's Tech
Talk.  Secretary will mail preliminary copies to srz and henry mench.  Robyn
Fizz also wants a person to do free lance computer graphics work.

Someone is still needed to fix/write a chaos driver.  BCN has some
higher-priority tasks to run first.

	Office Report:

Mac needs to be fixed before R/O Activities Midway.  Only the laserwriter is
under Apple-care.  

The office manual is still pending.

If a non-member desires to borrow fiction novels and you let him/her,
*you* are responsible for its return.  Anyone who borrows books, use
signout sheet on wall by airco controls -- member's name and what books.

	Athena Report:

Bldg 38 is down and so is eddie.

	Computer Services:

Services should be held for JCF.

	Telecommunications Report:

Waiting for theschun to work on 258-SIPB.

	Publications Report:

Waiting for Sec to get W20 documentation.  Jean Diaz is working on an
Inessential Guide to Project Athena.  Some copies are available in
chairman's home directory on charon, iness.{mss,PS,x9700}.

	R/O Report:

Tour: Irene will organize it assuming help from other people.  

	IAP Report:

We are supposed to be managing some volunteer comsultants this fall.  Any
volunteers to manage?

Aya is trying to find Sudbury.

There was a demonstration today for Ram of ADP.  He is a former MIT student
being held and tortured in Sri Lanka.

Many members are going thorugh N103 withdrawal.

	The meeting was adjourned at 20:10.
