Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 86.11.03


	The meeting was called to order at 7:42 by spook.
	
	In attendance were

	Treasurer's Report:

      Student Spending:  Month-to-date:1111.40
                         Year-to-date:12961.12

      SIPB/SIPBADMIN Spending:    MTD:915.89
                                  YTD:17420.10

Projected spending for student accounts is $40,000.  Motion to open shift
one to users. passes.  We have approx $82,000 budgeted for student spending.

We have lost lots of money for storage on old Coop accounts (on the order
of $2,000).  We are trying to find ways of getting retribution.

	Chairman's Report:

Elections tonight!  Nominees Ike, Donald, Aaron, Ted, Brian, Andre.
We get to torture them now!  Questions:  Donald likes CHinese Food (Mary's)
They don't seem to know what multics is.  Stan asks what the sipb projects 
are on Multics (the main ones)  1) SIPBADMIN, 2)clueless.  No one can give
Multics accounts, they are willing to learn.  The rest of them also like
Chinese food.  No one knows what the letters are on the top of the
blackboard (Brian makes a good guess).  They've heard of runoff and compose.
They guess that they can give accounts to students except for thesus work.
Who is Pat? Ike: Pat Robertson?

The QUESTION:
	Ted:  	Eat chinese food, system programming, source code of nol.
	Andre:	He want's to be associated with such a capable and 
		enthusiastic group,  free lkjsdfalakj (lossage in
		translation) Help users.
	Donald:   Cheap soda, chinese food, new friends, learn unix.
	Aaron:	To use the mac, to find out why people like unix
		to get a bigger athena account.
	Ike:	42, mumble rfs
	Brian:	To use the laserwriter, to learn Multics.

All pass with flying colors and a few abstains.  Congratulations guys.

	Office Report:
Carla has emptied three file drawers for chun, anand, and bill.  DO NOT
leave empty or full cans around the office.  Do NOT leave your stuff lying
around if you have a drawer.  File cabinets must be moved an inch to the 
left.  Free pendaflex folders--ask Carla.  Don't leave big things around
office (ice chests, boxes of surveys, etc.)  Terminals should be kept 
hooked up to a single machine at all times.  Move the tables around to
maximize space.

	Athena Report:
Athena Committee proposal written by Bryan Moser, UA meeting on THursday
Tim'll be there.  OLC volunteers needed.  Tim is a new athena consultant.

	Computer Services:
The Spinwriter is now gone.  Mr Greek_12 took it.  He has until Friday
to switch over from the laserwriter.  This may not be pursued.  Motion 
by Carla to let him use the laserwrite until he is properly set up to
use the spinwriter on his own.  Ken seconds.  Motion passes.

The Multics terminal room has moved downstairs to the old JCF terminal
room.  They will use the old room for some training center.  

	Telecommunications Report:
Spook flames at pww about w20.  258-SIPB is still being pursued.

	Publications Report:
Lots of documents must have the terminal room mentions changed.
Lots of Inessential Guides have been taken to w20.

	IAP Report:
There will be a hack tourney (Tim will take care of details.)  Multics 
class has a room now.
