Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 8611.10


	The meeting was called to order at 19:33 by spook.

	Chairman's Report:

um, shrimp was ok tonight.  he is also surprised to see the a.v. switches he
requested.

	Office Report: 

vt240 dies at random intervals.  hyland cannot deal with getting the req for
more power from leo ryan due to 2.70 and mono.  spook may pick up the
responsibility.  discussion on what to do with the modem from the PDP.  We are
still going to give/lend it to CCC.  srz will contact Gill Pratt.  lights are
fixed.

	Athena Report:

still there.  suggestion box stuff and liason stuff are being taken over by
ike (monkey@charon!!!).

spook, srz, wesommer have been working on "discuss" and it's sortof ready for
use now.  they want your gripes.  .disrc is a file that you need to if you
want to use it.  Also, use need to use kerberos with this.  (notes doesn't
handle across networks very well) send mail to discussers for bugs.  Add /krb
in your search path before /usr/ucb /usr/athena /usr/hosts /bin and most
everything else to use kerberos.  run kinit to start it up.  if you are not in
currently, you must change you password with /krb/passwd.

	Computer Services:

Bob O'Handley does not have the spinwriter set up.  We should work on this.

Shift one is opened up.

	Telecommunications Report:

W20 is being used.  pww says we should invest in new curtains.  He also took
care of the service contracts for those vt100s.

Ideas for new sections to the inessential guide will be appreciated (to ambar)
