Cable in gamadrid-wait. warlord sez someone came in one day with three shrink-wrapped tapes. He had streaming tape, but quiche doesn't handle that. QIC something, DAT tape, and TK50. Apparently we didn't have anything that can support any of these three formats, and the guy couldn't use it. We should try get quiche's tape drive up for use. The only viable tape backup we currently have is the exabyte. eichin: The RT has something that could have handled it? There was something to use the tape drive on quiche when it was running SVR4. jtkohl will try something on quiche after the meeting. jweiss: SCSI TK50? too expensive, ~$2000. and TK50 sucks, on top of that. rjbarbal: what ever happened with the 5.25" drive? mkgray (in response): new 486 will be the stable one hopefully? 16M RAM, 300M HD, DX-50 or DX2-66 3.5" and 5.25" drive... get a Nice monitor or just expect another VRC-16? Why? ask them to make a local mirror of rtfm, or lose access? that sounds good. other reasons rtfm is hosed: nightly jobs run all day. plexus server gets wedged... SIPB AFS Cell Backup Report: mhpower: almost done Publications Report: we have pubs. missing ref cards, send mail to sendpubs. who? jweiss will deal. tlyu: We probably want newer documentation for Matlab. our current Matlab documentation we have is for an old version.
