  MIT Computing Report:

There was an electrical fire in building 6, reportedly. Some
power east of building 10 (at least as far as GZA and including Royal
East) bounced, but not everything. (many servers, few clients)

  Computer Services:

News died. Ghudson attempted numerous fixes. Finally, lowering
the delay from 3 seconds to 2 fixed it. We suspect it was simply a
usage spike. Forecasts under currenttly expected conditions are
dismal.

Resnet starts tomorrow! Expect a flood of everything except for
free time.

rei is pushing the Alumni Accounts stuff. Help her.

We need someone to do backups (especially foo and bar server
backups). Volunteer. (talk to marthag)

There's a Aliant FX/8 super-mini available from the MIT Equipment
office. We may be interested in getting it.

ghudson's boot-disk works again. People interested in working
on/with Linux install should talk to him.

The MIT hostable is now in moira. /afs/net/admin/hosts/hstath.txt
and company are obsolete. We should get our stuff `fixed', where
`fixed' is not yet clearly defined.

If people come in and want an IP address or machine name, tell
them to talk to their RCC. (there's a list outside)

The macintosh SIPB locker is happening. Talk to yandros.

  SIPB AFS Cell Backup Report:

The backup will be done tomorrow.

  Publications Report:

The first copy of Inessential Linux Athena is in svalente's
hands. Yay! Motion (seconded, approved) to make 25 copies. (it's
still changing, which is why the number is small)

People should go to m11 Graphic Arts to get our iAthena's.
