Computer Services: mhpower: So there's this information about I/S wanting to have the machine name www.mit.edu, and it comes to us via a conversation between sly and jis. It seems that I/S would like to have the machine name and to redirect some set of URLs to the machine that we maintain. Comments? Say them now, send mail to webmaster, or talk to people later. jhawk: When I saw that, I wondered if it came about by the maintainers of www.wmit.edu being lame about the process of making the top-level page of www.mit.edu look like the top-level page of web.mit.edu, as had been discussed previously. Did we screw ourselves due to lameness? mkgray: In short: no. belmonte: The beta copies of Microsloth Office on deathtongue have expired. dbj: The non-beta copies should be on the MSDN disks. Upgrade it if you want to. jhawk: We have two copies of Windows 2000 adddressed to yandros. dbj: A copy of Office 2000 appeared in the office a few weeks ago. jhawk: This is zacheiss's fault. Orientation Report: rjbarbal: Someone might want to update the bulletin board in the hallway before R/O happens. jweiss: I know that there was discussion at some point about maybe updating things like the Linux install documentation before all the freshman show up. Our documentation is currently out of date. jhawk: Even if not much has been changed, the fact that it has a date of 1997 discourages some users. IAP Report: xela: It's IAP planning planning planning month. CokeComm Report: jweiss: We have lots of empties.
