Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 1/7/2002


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by fyfer.

Treasurer's Report:	
	nim: We have money, not sure quite how much. About $30000 before
		network costs, etc. Something like $3000 - $10000 after 
		that.

	alex_c: Move to allocate $60 for a kettle.
	yak: There's no stove. How does that work?
	alex_c: Electric kettle. It heats itself.

	alien: We need a budget. In the past it's been $1000. This year 
		we need another $600 for the panel. We may not spend
		all the $1000 but the panel money is necessary for 
		transportation (train).
		Move to allocate $1600 for IAP.

CokeComm Report:
	tibbetts: CokeComm has Diet Coke with Lemon. 
	dmaze: Move to consider it the opinion of the board that Diet Coke 
		with Lemon is an abomination.
	dbj:  Instead, Diet Coke with Lemon should be the official drink of 
		the SIPB.
	dmaze: I'll drop my motion if you drop yours.

Other:
	fyfer: The story of the gavel: I forgot it in my backpack after
		the meeting in 3-133. It's a plot to keep the next chair, 
		who'll be elected in a few weeks, from running meetings. 
		The office rock makes a good gavel.
