Real Estate Investments Guest Lectures

I would like to invite any members of the 11.432/15.427 class to attend any of three upcoming sessions of the Advanced Topics course in which we are having as guest speakers some prominent leaders from the real estate private equity investment industry. All sessions are 4:00-5:30 in the CRE Lecture Hall (where we met in class before). The sessions and speakers are:

Tue. May 3: Nori Gerardo Lietz, Co-founder, Pension Consulting Alliance, speaking on real estate opportunity funds and the real estate investment consulting business.

Thur. May 5: A panel: Tony Pierson, Portfolio Manager, Cornerstone Property Fund (an open-end "core" fund); Doug Poutasse, Chief Investment Strategist, AEW Capital Mgt. (former NCREIF President and research leader); and Bob White, founder and President of Real Capital Analytics (firm specializes in commercial property transactions and capital flow data). Panel will discuss the private equity real estate investment industry and role of investment research and new data and analytical resources available.

Tue. May 10: Wylie Greig, Advisor to Investment Property Databank (former principal at RREEF Funds), will discuss International Real Estate Investment.

Case 2 Available

The Case 2 CMBS Exercise is now available on the course Stellar site. It is due March 17. You should work in groups of 5 if possible (no more than that, but try to include 5). Ideally groups should have at least one student with some Excel expertise and at least one student with some finance background. I'm creating a Discussion Forum on the Stellar site to help with group formation. If you are looking for a group or for members for a group, post it in the Discussion Forum.
