Announcements
Link for first lecture
The first lecture will be live on Zoom here this Wednesday 2/17/21, at 3:05pm for 50 minutes. I'll stay online for an hour after the lecture, till 5pm, in case any of you would like to stick around or come back later in the second hour to chat (this will be a community chat, if more than one of you stays/joins; one-on-one chats can be scheduled separately, just send me email to set up). We'll aim to record and post the lecture.
For subsequent lectures, I'll be pointing you sequentially to
appropriate videotaped lectures from a previous term, lectures that
are still good and relevant as a scaffold for this semester's
version of 6.011. My main misgiving about using those tapes is that
you'll be seeing an overweight and out-of-shape version of my
current self (15 lbs heavier than I am now)! But you'll have
the retro pleasure of seeing an instructor at a blackboard,
interacting with live students in the classroom.
As noted in the course information handout, from next week onwards
I will run a live Q&A on Piazza during the scheduled lecture
hour, for anyone who wants to watch the assigned video
synchronously with me.
If and when we come to feel that a live lecture is warranted at
some later point in the semester, we'll set that up. But for
now the only live lecture on the schedule is this Wednesday at
3pm.

Link for recitations
Go here for recitations (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1pm or 2pm). Pick either section, and we'll rebalance later if the sections start to get too lopsided. The focus for tomorrow will be on problems that will help to get you into the material in the handout (on signals, LTI systems, transforms) that's posted under Materials.

Getting started
Welcome to this Spring 2021 offering of 6.011! We're looking forward to having you in class. To get oriented, please take a look (sometime before the first day of classes, Tuesday) at the two documents posted under Materials.
Also, please sign yourself up on the class Piazza site.
Note that we *will* hold recitations this Tuesday, the first day of class, to start reviewing some of the needed 6.003 material.
Thanks.
