-*- text -*- (last updated: 92/08/05) This locker contains the development sources for the Discuss conferencing system. The directory "sandbox" is a development copy of the sources, which should be reasonably current with respect to the CVS repository, though not necessarily up-to-date with the very latest changes at any particular time. It may also contain other changes in progress, which have not yet been checked in. The directory ".cvsroot" is the CVS repository, and contains the official version of the sources. (See README.cvs for a brief intro.) The directory "exl" contains programs built from fairly recent sources -- at any time when we've felt we had a fairly stable version, though not necessarily one ready for official release. If you don't mind testing out new features which may be slightly buggy, please try out these versions, and report problems to bug-discuss@mit.edu. Several other directories here ("vax", "rt", "rsaix", etc) are build trees, based on the "sandbox" sources. [[NOTE: They use symlinks to reference the sources, and I haven't adjusted the symlinks for the new locker layout yet. KR]] If you aren't willing to debug any problems you run into yourself, we suggest you don't run these versions of the programs. New releases of Discuss are available (in source form) from athena-dist.mit.edu. The Discuss executables are also available in the "sipb" file system on Athena. There is a public mailing list on Athena called "discussers", for matters relating to Discuss. There is also a "discuss" list, which feeds to the Discuss_development meeting, and is on the "discussers" list. A third list, "bug-discuss", is available for reporting bugs.
