gaim 1.1.4 is now installed for Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 (i386_rhel3) and Solaris 9 (sun4x_59) (i.e, the Athena 9.3 platforms). gaim is the only program being actively maintained in this locker.

This locker exists for the purpose of installing Instant Messenging
clients for various protocols, common and uncommon, on Athena. All
programs are compiled for both Solaris 9 (sun4x_59) and Redhat Linux 9 
(i386_rh9) (i.e, the Athena 9.2 platforms)  unless otherwise stated. 
Older platforms are not supported.

gaim (gtk2 based client supporting AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Jabber, Zephyr, IRC, and Gadu-Gadu)
gtkzephyr (gtk1 based zephyr client)
tik-0.90 (X based AIM client)
tac-0.17 (console based AIM client)
buddySpace (java based graphical jabber client)
licq (graphical ICQ client)
centericq (ncurses based client supporting AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and IRC) It may not work with MSN and Yahoo, though.
naim (ncurses based AIM/ICQ/IRC/LILY client)
azlaim (A Zephyr Like AOL Instant Messenger Client) X and tty based clone of zwgc.
jwgc (Jabber Windowgram Client) X and tty based zwgc-style Jabber client.
