Command Not Found

If just about every command returns Command not found, you have probably lost your system packs. Since Athena workstations need to have available more software than will normally fit on the hard disk drives of all the machines, and since keeping separate copies on each workstation would waste useable disk space and make software upgrades more difficult, a large part of the `standard' software is actually kept on remote filesystems called system packs or syspacks. This happens very, very, very rarely, but if it does you may well want to give up and go home. Eat lunch, take a nap, sit outside if it's nice out. Until the server comes back up, you can't do anything. Sorry.
