     ggeettNNAAMMEE - get NAME sections from manual source for whatis/apropos data

SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS
     ggeettNNAAMMEE [--iittww] _p_a_t_h [_p_a_t_h _._._.]

DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN
     The ggeettNNAAMMEE program looks inside manual sources to find the name and of
     the manual.  It can be used to create a table of contents, report the
     style of manual, or to create an introduction manual.  By default, ggeett--
     NNAAMMEE returns data for use in an apropos(1) database.  ggeettNNAAMMEE is designed
     to be called from makewhatis(8) or other manual grovelling tools, not to
     be used directly.

OOPPTTIIOONNSS
     The following options are available:

     --ii      The --ii option returns information useful in creating an introduc-
             tion manual.  See intro(1),  intro(2),  etc. for examples.

     --tt      The --tt option returns information useful for creating a table of
             contents.

     --ww      The --ww option determines whether traditional man (``OLD''), new
             mandoc (``NEW''), or some unknown (``UNKNOWN'') format exists.

BBUUGGSS
     It would be nice if ggeettNNAAMMEE could deal with preformatted manuals.
