.TH BILL_DB 8 "July 13 1990" "MIT Project Athena" .UC 4 .SH NAME bill_db \- generate bills from the print quota database .SH SYNOPSIS .B bill_db [ .B names file ] [ .B database ] .SH DESCRIPTION .I Bill_db generates bills for the print quota service. The names file is an ascii file containing names, social security numbers and student vs faculty flags in this format: .IP username:soc_security:flag:real_name .PP The complete path must be given if it's not in the current directory. Substituting /dev/null for this file will produce error messages for all users that require a bill. .PP The database argument is likewise the complete path of the database unless it's in the current directory. Only the root name is needed. All suffixes are automatically dealt with. .PP This operation will produce two files named bursar_studentsXXXXXX and bursar_facultyXXXXXX in the /tmp directory. These contain all users that require bills with appropriate amounts to be billed in proper formats to be sent to the bursars. .SH SEE ALSO lpquota(1) .SH AUTHORS Weip Chen (MIT-Project Athena) .SH COPYRIGHT Copyright (c) 1990 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. .PP All rights reserved. .PP Permission to use, copy, modify, and distribute this software and its documentation for any purpose and without fee is hereby granted, provided that the above copyright notice appear in all copies and that both that copyright notice and this permission notice appear in supporting documentation, and that the name of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) not be used in advertising or publicity pertaining to distribution of the software without specific, written prior permission. .PP M.I.T.
