     It's good to see you!  You look wonderful!  How is school?

     Oh, you remembered to get flowers for your mother!  That's my
Andrew.  They're lovely --- such bright yellows and whites.  I brought
some, too, in case you didn't have a chance --- you know your mother
will get upset if she doesn't have flowers for yontif.  Your
grandfather used to buy purple flowers for yontif.  That was your
grandfather.

     Mmm\dots. Do you smell the \tv?  The plums and the cinnamon?  The
\tv{} is still your favourite, isn't it?  Your mother likes it a
little, but she really prefers the apfel-noodle schalit, with the
apples and raisins instead.  She only makes the \tv{} for you, you
know.  That's your mother.  I used to do all the baking for yontif.
But your mother does a better job than I did.  She doesn't even need
my help anymore, with those gadgets.  Doesn't the \tv{} smell good?

     I'll probably be walking to synagogue at nine, as usual.  You're
not doing anything in the service this year, right?  You've more or
less stopped now that you're at school.  Well, I'm sure you'll pick it
up again when you have the time.  Right now your studies are more
important.  As long as you know you'll start again.

     It looks like your mother is ready to start.  She's poured the
wine for Kiddush.  Are you singing it tonight?  That's my Andrew.
