I would like to further clarify the Rabbi's reference to the program
discuss.  This is an electronic conferencing system supported by SIPB
(Student Information Processing Board) that is available on the Athena
network.  Specifically related to Jewish events is the meeting Hillel.

Discuss can be found in the /usr/sipb/vaxbin directory for most
workstations, or /usr/sipb/rtbin for RT's.  In order to use this, the
user must first "attach" the sipb directory by the command 
'attach sipb'.  First time users should answer 'yes' to the questions.
At the prompt, on-line help can be found by typing '?'.

To add the Hillel meeting to your list of attended meetings, type 
'goto new_meetings'.  At the prompt type 'am 128'.  Then simply 'goto
hillel' and 'pr new' to see all the new entries.   

This is, of course, an extremely simplified explanation of what can be
done with discuss.  For more information, please feel free to stop by
the SIPB office (11-205, x3-7788) and ask for documentation that is
available, or for answers to any questions you may have.
