	Treasurer's Report:

  There's SIPB money somewhere.

Gamadrid is not the Treasurer's type (or so the treasurer claims).

	Chairman's Report:

ChairMatt and ViceMatt met with kathy and jdb, discussing the
machine proposal. There was confusion. :-( Result: we'll probably
get our RFP RS/6000 and maybe-likely get the sun (maybe after a
  delay).

  <Secretary walks in. Minutes-taker says ``Whoa''. Office laughs.>

  End-of-fiscal-year-wish-list: punted. :-(

486: We aren't as constrained to the MCC as we'd thought. If you
know of a good deal, we're still looking.

Gamadrid is yet again cut off during the Incremental Fashion Report.

	Office Report:

Oh, boy. We *are* rearranging the office. There are ~5.3e14
differnt plans for office layout. ChairMatt hands off to Office
  Czar.

New Features in SIPB-OFFICE Version w20.2.x:

    o improved cart/wheelchair access *
o fewer desks with back to door
o fridge/drawer area hidden in the back
    o discussion area
    o documentation corner *

      * this feature not available in all models.

There are plans on the board. People should examine them. We
would like to decide RSN, so email eichin with your opinions
_before_next_Monday_. (we might actually even get the carpets
    cleaned!)

(Greg Stark confuses himself with Greg Mcmullan)

Office Czar executes Ultimate power and manages to create a
possiblity that the meeting will finish in less than a week.

Comments on the cleaning/razing: (Office Czar)

o ``Thank You'' for doing things.
o Non SIPB stuff will be dealt with sometime soon (waiting on
      cjsmith to return from Oberlin)

Old Magazines (Byte/MacWorld) - are they usefull? *discussion*
Office Czar will deal. (send him mail if you're interested,
especially in the MacWorlds, since it looks like they're going to
    be recycled)

There are bunches of old empty boxes. We should get rid of them
RSN. There are some non-empty boxes with old HP/UX manuals. They
stay as long as the HP does.

There are two old apple printers. We want to get rid of them. Go
  through the MIT Property Office.

SIPB no longer has a working usefull vt100. Amusing story about
ckclark, marthag, DEC hardware boxes, and the machine room alarm
system. We decide to get rid of the old vt1** (including Max),
after marc tries his hand at Doctor Frankenstein.

DT's keyboard: we've recieved no response from hotline. They
  probably don't support it.

Podge's mouse was reported as bouncing. _Hodge's_ mouse was
(correctly) checked (sidlives was a bonehead) and a Service call was
registered, after some inquisition about netrek playing.

  	MIT Computing Report:

Moira wasn't updating the mailhubs. It's still broken, but the
  update was forced by hand.

There are `problems' installing maxines. Maybe darrin's fault,
  maybe just gremlins.

        Computer Services:

We have UUCP semi-working again. Do we want to get into the UUCP
business again? <Minutes taker says `no' in a loud voice> Warlord
reaffirms his sucker, err, volunteer status w.r.t. UUCP maintance. We
will grant requests for MIT people but not for non-MIT people.

The WWW server on charon (http://www.mit.edu:8001/) is now public
and is being used all over the place. Talk to mkgray and/or yandros
  and/or bert if you're interested. (

Webster status: in Usenix (jik) wait; in NeXT wait.

Moving things around outland, sipb, and sipb-cruft: be intelligent
about paths in `message' scripts. (and don't use csh. :-)

Charon backups: we need a volunteer. gamadrid, yandros, sekullbe
  are rotating volunteers.

Charon's /srvd: tlyu needs an outage to fix a misinstall. Tonight.

        SIPB AFS Cell Backup Report:

Backup was done by mkgray. (just finished)

Tapeset arrangements: they're screwed up. We need to straighten
them out. ChairMatt and ViceMatt and OtherMatt will do this.

The Volumesets should be rearranged. ViceMatt and warlord and marc
  will deal.

	Publications Report:

  We have publications.

  New:
    o iZephyr - Bleed copy
o iLinux or LinuxAthena? Talk to mcmullan and eichin

	R/O Report:

One more week until we get final word on who's running/not running tours.

	IAP Report:

  Ha

	CokeComm Report:

We have just a little. The Jerk's car is down. Mcmullan did not
  promise to help.

	Other:

warlord: there's a writer from the Globe who's trying to stage a
tiger-team attach on four volunteer's privacy. Talk to
      	    warlord.

fastcart: IPhase/MITES are both here. Rickoids (RSI) will be here
      	    Sunday.

OS/2's display driver sucks. (What news!)

  	Other Other:

  Autumn returns next week!

Fastcart: his new cart is broken to the tune of $400. Thank
  goodness for the warranty.

Rollerblading with George after the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:29:09.

Minutes taken and submitted by yandros.
