Getting Around

Shuttle Bus

Shuttles from the Hyatt

The Hyatt Hotel has a free shuttle bus departing approximately every 15-20 minutes or on demand. It runs from 7am - 9 pm every day and brings you to Kendall Square, MIT campus, Harvard Square, Cambridgeside Galleria and the BU West stop on the Green Line. (It will also take you to Central Square, time permitting.)

MIT's Tech Shuttle provides free transportation around the MIT campus on weekdays from 7:15 am to 7:15 pm. It is available to Hyatt Hotel guests on a space available basis. Tech Shuttle vehicles are accessible to those with disabilities. For current schedule and information, visit the MIT Parking and Transportation Office website. The Tech Shuttle stop nearest to the Hyatt is in front of MIT building W92, half a block from the Hyatt. (Exit the hotel, turn left on Amesbury; W92 is at the corner of Amesbury and Vassar; the shuttle stops in the turn-around.)

MBTA

Public Transportation
Boston’s public transportation system, the MBTA, known as “the T” is the easiest way to get around Boston/Cambridge. The closest subway station to campus is Kendall Square on the Red Line. You may also want to consider going to Central Square (also on the Red Line). Public transportation fares and schedules may be found at the MBTA website.

The campus map has directions for getting to MIT from the airport, via public transportation, and by car or Hood blimp.

Analog Parking
Parking in Cambridge and Boston can be expensive and hard to find. Whenever possible, park your car at the hotel, and use public transportation to get to the MIT campus. If you must drive to the campus, on- and off-street parking is available for a fee, but most public parking is not very close to the center of the MIT campus. More parking information is available at the campus map website.
