Demos of tkWWW multimedia capibilities
tkWWW recognizes many different file formats
Directories
tkWWW can be used as a directory browser. The neat thing about tkWWW is that
these directories do not have to be on the local machine, but rather can be used
to browse ftp directories such as the tkWWW archives at harbor.ecn.purdue.edu.
DVI files
tkWWW can recognize and "do the right thing" and display DVI files. For example,
here is the DVI file which documents gnats, the bug tracking system used for
tkWWW.
Postscript files
tkWWW also recognizes postscript files
Still images
tkWWW can view still images. These still images can exist on the local
filesystem, or can be grabbed over the network. They can be of many different
formats include GIF, X window dump, and bitmap format, and sense you can scan
directories. tkWWW can be used as a handle GIF browser. Click here for an
example.
Moving images
tkWWW can also view moving images that are encoded in mpeg .
