| Life in MacGregor MacGregor is divided into nine living groups called “entries”. Each entry houses 30 to 48 people within a close-knit, three or four floor unit. Each entry has its own personality, ensuring that almost everyone will find a home in MacGregor. Within the entry, residents live in suites consisting of either six or eight single rooms which share a private lounge and large common bathroom. There are only two doubles within the building. The entry system unarguably allows residents to build a more close-knit community when compared to traditional dorm architectures (old school, long central hallways). Many entries even have their own mini “governments” to plan parties and outings. |

MacGregor House |
a Your Home Away From Home One of the greatest things about living in MacGregor is that you will experience all the benefits of an active undergraduate dorm (study breaks, brunches, ski trips, parties, etc.), while living in a comfortable, homely setting. Imagine coming back from a hard day of lectures, UROP work, and
extracurricular activities. Ahhh, that problem set was killer! You walk into your own room
and shut the door to get some quiet time. If you're feeling hungry, you open
your door to find a kitchen right around the corner – a refrigerator, stove,
sink, and the occasional oven. If you feel like talking to someone or hanging
out, you have at least five other people - perhaps some of your best friends
- living right next door. If you have a personal problem, the entry GRT
(graduate resident tutor) is
not far away. If you want to watch TV, shoot pool, play ping pong, or socialize
with people outside of your suite, just head to the main entry lounge, or
visit another entry! MacGregor provides a great balance between your own private space and a community that is always there when you need it. |
