Old Business
     Halloween Treak or Treat:
         - Went very well, but plan for distribution of decorations should be
              better next year.
     Athletic Facilities:
         - An order has been put in for backboards for the basketball court.
Ji (B) went slightly over the budget (~$20).
     JudComm:
         - JudComm members have been going around to all entries
         - Entry chairs should e-mail the JudComm Chair (Jay) to let him know
              when their study breaks are
     Recycling:
         - Clear plastic bags were bought. Some recycling chairs have already
              picked some up.

New Business
     MacGregor T-shirts:
         - MacGregor T-shirts are here! They are $10 each. There is a beaver
w/ bagpipes on the back of the shirt.
     Athletics:
         - IM Crew Challenge is this weekend. Rowers are still needed. If
people are interested, contact Brian (H) as soon as possible.
         - Soccer Tournament is planned for Veteran's Day weekend. H & D
              entries interested.
         - A Football Tournament is being looked into.
     Rec Room:
         - Jay (Rec Room Chair) went to court to petition for a permit for the
              arcade
         - The Cambridge License Commission of the City of Cambridge voted
against issuing a permit for us to have the arcade.
         - The MIT liason to the commission, John McNeal will look into
              getting us the permit.
     In house Rush:
         - Issues brought up:
Philosophical issue: Freshmen never asked to be evaluated when they
chose dorm housing. Is this a demeaning process?
Is 15 minutes enough for us to get to know the freshmen and for the
freshmen to get to know us?
Should upperclassmen have any say in who gets into their entry? Or
should it be the choice of the freshmen?
              - It should be up to the freshmen where they want to live. They
never asked to be evaluated as they would be during
                  sorority/fraternity/ILG rush.
              - But does a freshman know any more than us where they would fit
                  in best?
              - This is a two way street => the freshmen have to live with us
and we have to live with them. Both should get a say.
              - We have to weigh the happiness of freshmen vs. happiness of
the people already in the entry
Should we maximize first choices, or have as high choices as
              possible overall?
           Male/Female ratio problems
         - We will come back to this problem in two weeks. Please e-mail
Anand if there are any additional ideas as to how to progress
              with this issue.
     Dining Hall:
         - Manager of the Convenience store is interested in adding a hot food
service. He would like to come to HouseComm to make a
              presentation.

Issue to be discussed at next HouseComm Meeting: Social Budget
