Dinning Hall Survey
Within the next few weeks, the convenience store will start to provide hot meals daily from 7-8pm. The meals will be prepared by another kitchen and brought to MacG. This will hopefully allow us to gauge the demand for hot meals/dinning hall.
Installation of safer windows in MacGregor
In light of the recent suicide, MacG will be getting new and safer windows.
Over the past years, there have been 3 suicides from the high rise. As a result of the 1990 suicide, safety mechanisms were installed in the windows of A, B, C & D entries. The safety mechanisms limit how far the windows can open. Unfortunately, these safety mechanisms are easily tampered with or removed. The following are suggestions put together by a committee working to resolve the issue:

Install new windows, with three sections:
Install metal frames onto existing windows
A combination of the 2, e.g. frames in rooms, new windows in lounges

HouseComm suggestions, ideas & comments:
Install tamper proof safety mechanisms.
The 3 sectioned window obstructs ventilation.
Install a wire mesh
Entry Chairs, please get feedback from residents -- these changes WILL take place this summer.
Social
Sign-ups for the trip will be at front desk.
Rush
Each entry will receive 2 early returns.

Entry Party Policy
	Comments/Feedback from Entries:
	A - no strong feelings
	B - Wants no regulations
C - a time limit is not necessary, but after 1 am there should be a volume limit
D - a time limit is not necessary, but after 2 am there should be a volume limit
E - no regulations for small (30 people) parties
	F - no limits on anything (time/volume)
G - no strong feelings (but parties in the TFL should end at 2/3 am)
H - Would like to see Guidelines, but no regulations.
	J - no limits.

Comments on time limits and volume limits:
At 2am, if there are any complaints, then the volume must be turned off.
	Other suggestions included
reducing the volume at 2 am, such there no noise can be heard from the top floor of the entry above, and the bottom floor of the entry below. However, this would be extremely difficult to enforce.
reducing the volume as a courtesy to residents if there are any complaints.

	Chain of Command:
If problems/complaints arise, residents should not hesitate to call the following people :
JudComm Chair (Jay Grayson) / JudComm members
House Pres. Suma Dutta
Entry Tutors
Ass. Housemasters
Housemasters
and lastly C.P.'s

	Regulations Vs. Guidelines:
Although regulations will be set up, they will not be enforced unless there are complaints:

	MIT's regulation on party registration:
All parties serving alcohol must be registered.
All parties with more than 100 people must be registered and have a CP present.
Parties must shut down at 1am - however for parties less than 100 people this regulation is rarely enforced
There is no registration fee (It only costs money to 'rent a cop').

	Comments on Entry Party Registration
Any publicly postered/mass emailed parties must be registered
	Suggestions for 'Private parties':
register if there is alcohol
register is there are > 50 people
register if there are > 50 % non MacG people

	Misc. Comments
JudComm should poster more, so that people know who to go to.
House Pres. (Suma) and House Treasurer (Deb) are liable, in the event that things go wrong.
