As we wrap up the semester, I would like to address a few of our accomplishments since February and let you know where we are headed next year. First, I extend my gratitude to the house officers, entry chairs, committee chairs, and others who contributed to MacGregor this semester. We firmed up the decrowding policy and got it endorsed by RCA (Residence and Campus Activities). We also reached agreement on moving the convenience store into the present TV room and renovating the courtyard with new furniture. Despite our budget woes, we pulled off several excellent Club Macs and a very successful spring BBQ. Also, we organized three house athletic tournaments which all enjoyed good turnout.
To date, video games and recreation facilities are still lacking at MacGregor. However, with the convenience store relocation and the new fall budget, vice president Mark Hansen and I are very optimistic about bringing the rec room back to life. Also, Jason Hintersteiner, chair of the Student Services Committee, is working hard to get our oven proposal through Housing. We should also see the cable TV and perhaps even Athena connections come to MacGregor this summer.
This summer should be a good one at MacGregor. I expect a very successful R/O in which I hope some of you can participate. I plan to continue monthly Club Mac parties, organize a band party, and continue pushing Housing for anything they will give us. A very important question for which I need answers very soon is what you would like to do about food in MacGregor. We have the convenience store, but do you want more? Would you like outside catering if the cost remains competitive? Please contact me on this before you go away because I may have to make some decisions on this over the summer. If you will be here this summer, I hope you will be playing Kentucky Fried softball. I'm sure we'll have a great time!
Congratulations to seniors and we wish you success. As for the non-seniors, I hope you all have a relaxing summer and I'll see you when you return.
