Subject: Video cards on cutter-john and pickled-herring swapped

The smudgy lines on cutter-john were annoying me, so I swapped the
video cards on cj and pickled. Now cj is fine, and pickled sucks,
which is an improvement, since cj is a hotseat. Incidentally, this
demonstrates conclusively that it's a video card problem.

Note that this problem is entirely different from the problem with
alice-whacker (and which some have said they've seen on pickled;
perhaps it will now show up on cj), which is staticky horizontal lines.
This problem, which is with the video card now in pickled, is that
bright areas on the screen smudge out into long horizontal bars.

I'm going to send a shorter mail regarding this particular problem to
hotline in a moment. Does anyone know what happened with regard to
alice-whacker? Did anyone ever get around to reinstalling it? (I
think we should just try a new video card, it hardly seems like it
could be a software problem.)
