If the computer in question permits remote logins (for example if the
'access_on' script has been run, or if ACCESSON=true in /etc/athena/rc.conf),
then telnet in (or ssh in) and run the command line "ps -ef | fgrep Xsession".
You should see a line of output that ends in "/etc/athena/login/Xsession", and
begins with your username. Run the command "kill xxx", where "xxx" is the
number immediately to the right of your username on that line. If this fails
to log you out, then run "kill -9 xxx". If you still are not logged out, see
below.

If the computer in question does not permit remote logins, you'll just have to
boot it. On a Sun, press the `stop' key near the top left of the keyboard
simultaneously with the `a' key. A prompt will appear. Press `b' and `enter'.
On an SGI or a Dell, just press the reset button.

We hope that this information resolves your question. If not, feel free to
contact us again by sending mail to sipb@mit.edu, ringing us on x37788, or
stopping by our office (W20-557).
