Yes, it's that time of year again. Time for us to get the PSG wheels
rolling again. Jarok and I met last week and have an overview of our
ideas for fall scheduling. So that the MIT-PSG doesn't become the
Kit and Jarok show, please join us in the planning and execution of
PSG activities.

We would like to have an opening social on Saturday, September 7th.
We could have a picnic, or have some ice cream making.

Two weeks later, on the 21st, we'd like to have an equinox/Mabon ritual.

We would like to have Paganism 101 be two weeks after that, on October 5th.

Samhain is on a Thursday this year. How does Saturday, October 26th
(the Saturday before) sound for our annual ritual?

Then, two weeks after that, another social -- most likely a movie
night -- on Saturday, November 9th.

As you see, we've arranged things so that socials generate momentum
for events, and the energy of events leads to more socials.

Our weekly Moon rituals will start up again with the next cycle of
the moon on Sunday, September 8th.

On a side note, we were wondering how to get more outreach with the
MIT community. Are their questioning/exploring people for whom Pagan
is too loaded a term, implying a commitment they aren't ready to
make? Would having a separate name help?

=46or example (and this name is only an example):

Pantheon (the group for Pagans, those of alternative faiths,
spiritual people, questioner, and those seeking their path)

Now, the name needs work, and the blurb needs work (I'm not sure I
like the term 'alternative faiths'). But the question is, would this
attract more people of various paths who don't identify as Pagan?

As opposed to being called 'the MIT Pagan Students' Group', where
someone might see that and go, "Well, I don't identify as Pagan," or,
"I'm a Heathen, not a Pagan," or, "I'm just exploring, really," etc.

Please respond with your input/suggestions/ideas, but let's do it on psg-tal=
k.

If you want to be added to psg-talk, please use
either

blanche psg-talk -a $USER

or email to mitpsg-request@mit.edu asking to be put onto psg-talk.

Thanks for listening. We're going to have a wonderful year.

P.S.

If anyone knows how I can configure Mac Eudora to send using
outgoing.mit.edu at home using DSL, please let me know. I'm on a
router at home as well.

My Eudora settings work fine at work at Harvard (I was able to send
this email, after all). But outgoing.mit.edu doesn't like me at
home. The funny thing is, to send from home, I use Harvard's smtp
server, and I'm not sure it should be letting me do that either.
*heh*

I know I've been able to send email from home before, so there's
probably a setting off somewhere. I have Kerberos for the Mac which
authenticates who I am. Thanks for any help on this. (-:
