(ruth- i sent this to you just in case you want a copy of these too- )

Andrew,
This is as updated as I am for now-

These are the people who I still don't have:
Alyssa Rosenn - i haven't heard from her.. maybe she won't have one
Dena Cohen - same for this person
Andrew Greene - you do yours...
Leslie M. (Miss.Blushington Understudy)- i am getting hers tonight by phone
Lya Ana Batlle - i keep reminding her, and she keeps forgetting. i'll give her
                   one last reminder right now.

btw, what is the absolute FINAL day you will accept bios?

Marisa
 (stage-manager and other such things)

p.s. in brenda's bio there is a name of a middle school.. i couldn't read her
handwriting- so i'll have to tell you what the proper name is after i get a
  chance to speak with her.

*******************WARNING: FALLING BIOS AHEAD********************************

Kevin L. Mitchell ('98) is in majoring Course 8 (Physics, for the non-MIT types).
The first time he ever saw a play/musical, he was running sound and lights for
it. His "acting debut" was with The Sorcerer, where he managed to get himself
a part in the chorus, and later was conscripted to play the demon.

Andrea Humez '96.5 (Nekaya) returns from her undercover mission with MTG to
discover that she's been given a new job as a soprano. Her next career
move will be to play someone older than fifteen. Inquiries about her
natural demureness should be made at the dressing room door.

Holly Teichholtz (Zara) graduated in 1994 from the B.U. School of Music, where
she studied with Joan Heller and Penelope Bitzas. This past December, she
appeared in the 25th anniversary production of The Christmas Revels.
During the day, Holly works in public affairs at the Whitehead Institute
for Biomedical Research in Kendall Square.

Joseph Kaye ('99) is a G&S virgin. He directed & acted for MIT's Dramashop last
semester, and also works with Roadkill Buffet, MIT's Improv Comedy troupe,
who he claims keep him sane. Evidence is to the contrary. (c/o '99)

John H. Morrison, PhD '93 (Chorus) has performed on stage in Iolanthe,
The Sorcerer, and Eben's Harvest, and in the pit orchestras of South
Pacific and A Little Night Music. Utopia will most likely be his last
public artistic endeavor for some time.

Mike Bromberg '70 (Tarara, Lighting Designer) has been designing lights
at MIT for 30 years, but this is his first appearance on an MIT stage.
Offstage, Mike designs circuits, climbs mountains, draws maps, writes
magazine articles, and plays the piano.

Sheldon Brown (King Paramount) is a bicycle mechanic, writer, photographer,
and the absolute ruler of the domain <sheldonbrown.com> He is also the
very proud father of Tova (Melene). This is his first principal role. He
has also appeared in the Cambridge Revels and in the MIT G&S Mikado in
1994.

This is Yanko's thirteenth show with this group since he joined in
1988. Though not superstitious by nature, he is thinking of possibly
claiming undeserved credit for some past production, so as to be able
to call it the 14th instead. He has been seen on stage, off stage,
playing the clarinet, master-electricianing, designing lighting, house
managing, and last but not least, producing. He has also worked with
the Musical Theatre Guild and the MIT Community Players.

Randi Kestin (Publicity Director - EC, chorus) - Since her last performance
with MITG&SP when she appeard as Mrs. Partlett in Sorcerer, Randi has done
everything from lurking in orchestra pits to performing and Asst. Directing
shows all at the same time! (most recently in Princess Ida with the Sudbury
Savoyards) This is her 5th show in 7 months. She is also a member of the MIT
Community Players. Uhlalica!

CarolYN Jean Smith '87 (soprano chorus) has been involved with this group for quite
some time. She is proud to say that she has performed in the soprano
chorus in every show now, save Thespis. In her free (!) time, she
is persuing a Master's in Early Music on recorder at Longy, and
attempting to learn cornetto, harpsichord and harp for fun...

DANIEL KAMALIC '99 (Scaphio) is pleased to be once again living out his
lifelong dream of singing the patter songs and dancing sillily in a Gilbert
and Sullivan operetta. You may recognize him as either John Wellington
Wells (the Sorcerer) from last November's The Sorcerer, or from his other,
ongoing performance as a clueless frosh at MIT. Trifle with him and you
DIE! BAH!

Mario R. Sengco (G) (Capt. Fitzbattleaxe) is pleased to appear in his
second MITG&S production. His credits include "Amadeus" (Venticello),
Chekov's "The Three Sisters" (Alexi) and varied roles in several
Shakespeare plays (Southampton Shakespeare Ensemble). In real life,
Mario studies Biological Oceanography.

Tova, who was a chorus member in Mikado and the percussionist in Sorcerer,
is proud to have a principal role (1 line) in Utopia. She is a 9th grader,
and God of a small universe orbiting a citrus fruit.

Kate Cunningham has written her bio at the last minute. Again. This is
her 4th show with MITG&SP, and she's lost count of the other shows.
This is what she does instead of having a life.

Amy has wanted a beard since she was in high school. She's finally
gotten her chance, and to cross dress, and to sing tenor, alto and
soprano as well! What a night!

Lucy Lim '98 (Salata, MITG&SP Secretary) last had lines as Fleta
in last spring's Iolanthe. She has been in every MITG&SP show
since she arrived at MIT and is therefore too tired to write a more
exciting bio.

Stephen Adams's (chorus) first G&S show was Utopia Ltd. An
ocean, some trouble with vampires, two Gondolieri and an
Iolanthe later he finds himself once more in Utopia. His
`outside' activities include wedging, throwing and having no
virtual life.

Johanna Bobrow '99 (Concertmistress, Co-Orchestra Manager) is taking time
off from her usual occupation as an utterly clueless freshman to be
MIT&SP's utterly clueless concertmistress, and for a change, co-orchestra
manager as well.

Tom Yu '95/'96 has been doing G&S shows on and off for a few years
now, usually in some lighting capacity. Despite all rumors to the
contrary, he is in fact an aero/astro major, really.

Rebecca A. Consentino (Phylla) is pleased to be in Utopia, Limited,
her sixth Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. Previous theater credits include
the role of Josephine in "H.M.S. Pinafore." She recently directed an
evening of one-act plays at Emmanuel College, where she is a sophomore.

David C. Jedlinsky '89 (Mr. Goldbury, Copyist, Set Designer) has not
learned what it means to do only one task for a show. Typesetting the
vocal score, he notes, gives renewed meaning to the term "masochist".
His username isn't "opus" for nothing, it seems.

Jenna Wilkinson ('99 Emmanuel College) has been involved in
theatre most of her life. Although fluent in American Musical Theatre,
this is her first Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. Favorite past roles,
musical and non, include "Mary Warren" in The Crucible, "Kate" in Brigadoon,
and most recently "Alice" in a mad cap version of Alice in Wonderland.
Although this is her first show with MITG&SP, she hopes it will not be
her last.

Thomas Kettler, a bass playing one of the First Lifeguards, started singing
in high school and church choir. His life's ambition, to play shortstop in the
majors, stopped when he realized his inability to hit the ball out of the
infield.

Jason Goodman (G, Assistant Stage Manager) is descending to Earth in his
second G&S show after becoming a creature of the Air as master electrician
for the Sorcerer. He's a graduate student in physical oceanography, so
he's mastering Water as well... With luck, someone will stage Pippin soon
so he can round out his list of elements.

When Jeff Bigler '87 (Bailey Barre) was born, he was quiet. His mother told the
doctor "Babies are supposed to cry when they're born. Why isn't he crying?"
So the doctor slapped him and he hasn't shut his mouth since. When Jeff
isn't on stage, he can be found dancing with Middlesex Morris, playing
viola with the New England Philharmonic, Tryptich, or the Boston Chamber
Ensemble, caving, brewing beer, talking on his HAM radio, bicycling,
tearing his house apart, or planning his wedding.

Leslie Corn, currently a student at Longy School of Music, has performed
roles with the Tufts Arena Opera Theatre in "Susannah" and "Madama
Butterfly", and sung in the chorus of Boston's Old South Church. In addition
to classical singing, Leslie has performed in many of Boston's night clubs,
including the Lenox Hotel.

Robert Morrison '97 (Phantis)
Though wily Brain I haven't got
I know a lot of stuff
A silly MIT Student
  Most Imprudent and gruff
At Senior Haus I tireswing
  And here in G & S I sing
And I, for one, sure thing it's fun
As long as all my homework's done.

This production marks Mr. Sweeney's second time working on Utopia, Ltd.
after having been Assistant Director to Michael Cashman's production with
the Sudbury Savoyards. Mr. Sweeney has been director, assistant directro
and stage manager for numerous shows including H.M.S. Pinafore, Ruddygore,
Jesus Christ Superstar, Working and Anything Goes. On alternate St.
Crespin's Days he will also admit to having done some acting before turning
to directing.

Ilena Wadler, a New York native and a Bachelor of Music graduate of SUNY
Fredonia, is thrilled to make her Massachusetts singing debut with MIT's
G&S Players. While in New York, Ilena sang Despina in Mozart's Cosi Fan
Tutte and Mussetta in Puccini's La Boheme. This spring, Ilena will be
performing at Carnegie Hall in a concert presented by The Associated Music
Teachers League of New York.

Marisa Kirschbaum ('99) left the orchestra pit where she plays violin to join
the production staff where she became stage manager. This is her first G&S
production at MIT, and it is definitely not her last! Who knows...maybe
some day you'll see her in the orchestra pit playing cello (if she gets around
to practicing it this summer!)

Brenda Winston has choreographed for many different groups including Harvard
Law School, various school departments, and many charitable groups. Along with
Utopia Brenda is also currently choreographing the spring musical at the Ohosm
Middle School in Arlington as well as the Vincent Club Show in Boston. In the
"real" world Brenda is a social work supervisor.

This is Linda Kiley's ('99) first performance in an operetta as a chorus member.

Arthur Dunlap (chorus) denies speculating heavily in shares of Utopia, Ltd.
thereby causing the collapse of Barings Bank, but he admits to appearing
previously in MITG&S Players productions of _The Mikado_ and _Iolanthe_.

Jamez Kirtley(S.M. 95) - This is Jamez' second show with G&S as the
"Crazy guy in the sky" although he's never once dropped an instrument
on anyone. Just to prove that he's got divided loyalties, Jamez can
be seen getting murdered on the set of the MTG show, "Something's Afoot"

Jay Lane is presently writing a dissertation on the concertos of Carl
Ditters von Dittersdorf, which may explain what he's doing spending
so much time conducting Gilbert and Sullivan and playing organ in churches.

Anita Costanzo (Lady Sophy)is studying music for her Master Degree at the
Longy School of music.
