The Andrew Toolkit is a graphical user interface and application development environment developed at Carnagie Mellon University. Athena is offering Andrew applications and the toolkit development environment on an AS-IS experimental basis. The ez multi-media document preparation application, and some of its affiliated media-manipulation objects have been included as Athena supported document preparation tools. The Andrew help system contains overviews and well-written on-line documentation. Run it by typing: ahelp The multi-media editor (the star of the Andrew show) is run by typing: ez The file /mit/andrew/NEWS contains up to the minute news of changes to the Andrew Toolkit and Applications. It is a good idea to read this often. Athena users can add themselves to the 'andrew-news' mailing list There is an Andrew Toolkit discuss meeting where people debate aspects of the Andrew Toolkit and Applications as they are offered at MIT. If you are interested in more information or encounter problems using Athena Andrew, contact Bill Cattey: wdc@athena.mit.edu (Electronic Mail) e40-349 (MIT Interdepartmental Mail) 253-0140 (Telephone) He is in charge of making Andrew do what Athena users want. He can answer questions about MIT specific changes that have been made, or should be made. He can also answer questions about other Andrew applications such as its application builder 'ADEW' and its mail system 'messages'. Your feedback is important to Athena as it considers options in evolving document preparation tools. - Bill Cattey
