This list includes the following addresses, in this order: Mike Bauer Heralds mailing list storytellers compagnie mercurie RENAIS-L the chroniclers Genevieve de Chanteloup Crwydrn fan club Siubhan Thomas the Tentpeg ----------------------------- Date: Tue, 11 Feb 92 23:27:57 EST From: michael@visix.com (Michael Bauer) Here I am at my new email address -- michael@visix.com, in case it got mangled. I've tested this locally at Visix, and am in the process of testing it from Athena as I write. For those of you who are worried about mistyping or misremembering, I also have the alias mjbauer@visix.com, so misremember away. All my old email addresses should still work; I just have them all pointing to visix.com, so you'll save yourself at least one hop (and probably two) by sending directly to visix.com. Mike Bauer 11835 Shire Court, #22B Reston, VA 22091 -------------------------------- From: schuldy@bedford.progress.COM (Mark Schuldenfrei) Subject: Heralds mailing list reset Date: Thu, 5 Mar 92 10:37:03 EST For those of you who were on the olds heralds mailing list, and miss it since the demise, here is how to get on the latest incarnation. Kwelland-Njal doesn't mention it, but I believe, to post, send to SCAHRLDS@pucc.princeton.edu. Please, if I am mistaken about that, someone please correct me. For email headers, the case of the person or list is important, but the rest is not. To unsubscribe, send the same test he mentions below, but change the word SUB to UNSUB. So, save this message for the future. Tibor (If you don't know what all this means, feel free to ask me. Forwarded message: From: mit-eddie!Princeton.EDU!vnend (David James) Date: Fri, 28 Feb 1992 14:56:12 EST Subject: Re: Good News Good News!!! :-) Starting some time this weekend, and definately by Monday, there will be a new listserv at Princeton, SCAHRLDS, for discussion of SCA heraldry. This is a public listserv, so anyone can subscribe simply by sending mail to LISTSERV@PUCC.Princeton.EDU (those of you with BITNET accounts can use TELL, or can just send to LISTSERV@PUCC) with a blank subject line and a body of: SUB SCAHRLDS Firstname Lastname with your name filling in there. You can include middle or other initials if you like. You will recieve a note back informing you that you are signed up for the list. I currently have the list set up so that it will not echo your own messages back to you, and so that hitting Reply will send a message back to the list. In addition to automatic subscription and unsubscription, the listserv will be logging message for future retrieval. It also will enable people to recover files with information that we might decide need to be there, again, automatically. I am currently set up as the owner and administrator of the list. If, at some future time, it because necessary, it will be possible to change list administrator's without moving the address. Again, the list will probably become active tomorrow, certainly some time this weekend. Sending mail right now might be a little early. David W. James Kwellend-Njal Kollskeggsson ------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 23 Apr 92 10:59:50 EDT Subject: Storytellers Mailing list Fondest Greetings to you all; I have recently created a storytellers mailing list. It is open to all who wish to hear guild news, discuss the craft of storytelling, or chat about related material. Topics that will probably come up are the location of guild meetings, teaching the craft of storytelling, the guild library, the source project, and the guild's involvement in upcoming events. To sign on to the list send requests to: storytellers-request@world.std.com To send mail to the list, send to: storytellers@world.std.com We look forward to having you join us. I remain, your obedient servant...and angel, Aleksandr Yevsha, House Sinister Guildmaster, Worshipful Company of Carolingian Storytellers troll@morpheus.sug.org --------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 30 Apr 1992 10:54 EDT From: cat <9005904@SSCvax.CIS.McMaster.CA> Subject: the compagnie mercurie Greetings unto the members of the Rialto Courier list. The members of the Compaignie Mercurie do send you greetings. The Compaignie Mercurie is a inter-kingdom guilde, established to study message carrying and courier services throughout the entire world during the Middle Ages and Renaissance and to provide these services to the Knowne World. Thus, the members of Compaignie Mercurie do fling open the doors of the company and do invite all and sundry to enter our fellowship and to partake of our services. Bands of messengers have existed since antiquity and continued to provide services during the Historical Middle Ages. The Incan Empire, the Roman Empire and the Mongul Empire all depended upon their bands of stalwart messengers to conduct their governance and commerce (and, of course, one cannot forget the messenger who ran to Athens from the battle of Marathon to report the news of the battle). Besides studying the history of messages, message carrying and the messengers who carried them, the Compaignie Mercurie seeks to provide a service for the Knowne World. These services include providing "list runners" for tournaments, courier services for delivering messages at court from one territory to another, and providing personal message services at large tournaments and wars. In this way, the Compaignie seeks to contribute to the Recreation of the Middle Ages by the Society. To these ends, the Compaignie Mercurie earnestly seeks members in every territory of the Knowne Worlde. It is our hope that sometime soon even the Smallest Canton and College will have at least one member of the Compaignie available to render service. Membership in the Compaignie is open to all gentles of good will who wish to join us in this noble task. Finally, the Compaignie Mercurie does humbly solicit inquires from gentles wishing to avail themselves of our services. Be we still but few in number we will earnestly strive to faithfuly discharge our duty. Any gentle wishing more information about the Compaignie Mercurie should direct inquiries to cat [9005904@sscvax.cis.mcmaster.ca] Thank you kindly for reading this post. ------------------------------------------- From: EDK.LASPAU@mhsgw.harvard.edu (EDK) To: CAROLINGIA@BLOOM-BEACON.MIT.EDU (-) Subject: NEW LIST: RENAIS-L - History Date: Thu, 30 Apr 92 14:44 RENAIS-L on LISTSERV@ULKYVM History of the Renaissance or LISTSERV@ULKYVM.LOUISVILLE.EDU RENAIS-L is a forum for debate, discussion, and the exchange of information by students and scholars of the history of the Renaissance.
