Debathena
What is Debathena?
Debathena brings Athena functionality to Debian-based Linux distributions, including Ubuntu. In the public Athena clusters throughout campus, IS&T has deployed Ubuntu workstations running Debathena.
Debathena's primary documentation is available at http://debathena.mit.edu.
How do I start a web browser?
The Firefox web browser is the default web browser on Debathena. You can launch it by clicking the Firefox icon in the panel, or from the Applications menu: ApplicationsInternetFirefox Web Browser.
How do I check my e-mail?
You can click the mail icon in the panel, or from the Applications menu: ApplicationsInternetAthena Mail.
How do I log out?
You can click the power button icon at the top-right of the screen, and choose Log Out... from the menu.
How do I start a Terminal window?
You can start a Terminal window from the panel at the top of the screen by choosing ApplicationsAccessoriesTerminal.
Where is the Ubuntu Documentation?
The Ubuntu Documentation is available here or by clicking the "Help Topics" button in the toolbar of this help browser window.
