fc's FFXI page

These are just some random screenshots I took during the Final Fantasy XI Online beta.

My first screenshot. I took it by accident. Heh. This is Rowr, an old friend, and I in Dangruff Wadi.

This is from inside the monument cave in Konschtat Highlands. I took it because the clouds look kind of spooky, yet beautiful from inside the cave.

First time seeing and meeting a GM. This is in Bastok Mines AH. We were awed by his presence. Heh.

Ooh! A rainbow!! I wonder if there's a pot of gil at the end of it. Nah... Probably just a hard NM or something.

This is me in Gusgen Mines. Rigor Mortis has set in. I'm so stiff that my entire weight can be supported with just my toes.

Another rainbow picture. Same place. No, I didn't get the pot of gil this time either.

I believe this is us doing Mission 9 within Delkfut's Tower. Lotta swords. Poor Goblin Pathfinder.

Random chocobo mob picture. We were outside of Castle Oztroja for Mission 10. Man, I hate that place.

TRAIN!!! This is the escape from Davoi after getting a Key Item for Mission 10. Needless to say, I took the screenshot, then ran.

Look! It's the multi-headed chocobo!! What will KFC come up with next?

So, that's how the Worker Crawlers in Crawler's Nest respawn so fast... I wonder if they like Barry White...

Is it me or does it look like Flooze has eyes on the top of his head???

TRAIN!! This one is for the Paladin AF2 (artifact equipment #2). We were waiting for ppl to show up and I got bored. What's cool about this train is that I was so high level that I was in no danger despite the two-dozen Yagudos (Yagudoes?) around me. Everyone was impressed by the number I pulled. Gotta love the well-timed "Miss."

Uhh... Make up your own witty remark for this one...

Hello, Mr. Killing Weapon! This is in Ro'Meave. I was in a three-person party and wanted to get to GodsHall. But, we got to the Ro'Meave entrance, looked around, and went "Hmm... These check as Incredibly Tough and we are lvl 50-51." We decided to leave, but one of the party members experienced a zone death. /cry

This is the group after we killed Bloodtear, a Notorious Monster, or NM Ram in Konschtat Highlands. Out of 18 people in the alliance, only 1 survived but i think he or she ran away.

Let's pose away from the NM Behemoth... Far away... Ok, maybe we are too far. But, it has a huge agressive range. So, if we were any closer, we'd get attacked and die...really quickly. This was taken with members of the first linkshell I joined called ChocoboKnights.

A bunch of airship pictures I decided to take since the FFXI Beta was ending soon.

Some Job abilities that a level 51 Monk/25 Warrior can do.

Nice dragon... Purty dragon... Lemme pet... Argh!!!!!!!!!!

End of Beta event pictures. They decided to let the GameMasters (GMs) fight. I died and leveled down to 50. Oh well...

After we killed a NM, fireworks appeared in our inventory. This is us firing them off. My personal favorite is Airborne. The one with the Goblin parachuting down from the sky.

Ramuh!! What special about him is that no one in Beta got high enough in level to go for these types of summons. Since this was end of Beta, GMs got to play around and show off.

Lots and lots of death during the end of Beta event. Especially in Garliage. In my "down" time, I took some pictures of the NM scorpion and of ppl riding around on chocobos. The thing is, this is an area that you normally cannot ride chocobos in. Is it too late to submit a bug report?

Killed another NM, got more fireworks. How the bird got stuck in the wall is anyone's guess.

The event ended, but the GMs were kind enough to provide a steady supply of fireworks to us in Port Jeuno. Someone started a poll about which of the five fireworks was the favorite. Airborne won 18 to nothing. The GM said, "I guess I have to give you all Airbornes now?"

After playing around with fireworks, a group of us decided to spend what time we had left in GodsHall. It seemed a fitting place to have the plug pulled on us. There were a few casualties as we went through Ro'Meave (see the above Killing Weapons pictures). But we all made it in with 20 minutes left to spare on the announced end of Beta time. This was my first time here, so I went screenshot crazy. This place is normally for characters of level 60 and higher.

Gally, one of three other high level Monks in Beta including myself was kind enough to let me borrow her level 50 Tactical Hooks (hard-to-get weapons). Nuyu is behind us resting after helping to Raise (bring back to life) a few alliance members. Thing about Nuyu is that we partied together very early in beta around level 14. It was nice ending the beta with one of the first people I met. I knew I was gonna miss my friends. Yes, I gave Gally the hooks back.

Final moments of Beta. Or so we thought. We waved, cheered, and set off a couple of dozen Airbornes. The music in GodsHall was causing a few players to cry. We knew we couldn't think of a better place to end Beta at. Although a few did leave (went to other places), but that was after the appointed time came and went. Heh. We chatted within the alliance and said our goodbyes to linkshells and friends. Then, we noticed that one of our party members who was in Port Jeuno disappeared. A quick search uncovered that the zone she was in had been shutdown. Then, 45 seconds later and 27 minutes past the announced time, I saw my connection counting down from 100% to 4%. Then, I got the disconnected box and Beta was officially over.

But...There's gonna be a continuance!!

Bwuhahaha!!

Thanks for reading. As a reward, look here (http://web.mit.edu/fastcart/Public/FFXI/movies/) for a video of the fight with Bloodtear. The video is provided by Kittycat.
