HS freshman: wrote 300-page manual and designed entire curriculum for teaching programming in the BHS system. Codex: taught people about X.400 Verbex: trained completely unskilled help to do backups. Bitstream: taught a seminar on the X window system for font designers. MIT: Seminars in lighting design, in analog stereo network design, use of Labanotation in describing robot biped movements. Why I want to be a TA: provides more experience teaching, which is something I like to do. Provides support. Is more flexible and exposes me to a wider range of topics than RA. In particular, research in model-based ES, in network protocol design (X.400) & implementation (DNS, NFS, mailer), in representation for expert knowledge capture for font designers and in man/machine interaction, in machine architecture (e.g., paper on capability machines---see description in Objective).
