SIPB stands for the Student Information Processing Board. It's a group at MIT that provides computer related service to the MIT community. Essentially, it's a group of computer nerds who help out MIT, and in return have an office and computers to play with. I first became involved in SIPB in 1991, my freshman year at MIT. In 1993, I and a couple other SIPB members set up www.mit.edu. I used to (and occasionally still do) spend long afternoons in SIPB asking older members questions, trying new things and in general being a nerd. I ended up wasting a lot of time, but I also ended up doing a lot of cool things. ----- events/sipbwebserver groups/mit
