With this background I hope to pursue a course of investigation that will encompass the areas of cognitive psychology, molecular biology and computational dynamics. My fascination with the field comes from my long attachement to the field of biology and my fascination with the complexity of the human mind. I am currently interested in the application of various cognitive and biological models to clinical cases of brain pathology. For the past two years I have been engaged in the study of repetition priming memory in normal subjects and the amnesic H.M. Through this research I hope to learn more about the realtion between structure and function in the human brain. My undergraduate program reflects my desire to integrate biology, psychology and computation. I am currently a candidate for two B.S. degrees one in biology and one in cognitive science. I have studied computation through courses in programming and mathematical learning theory. My molecular biology experience was extended in Biology Project Laboratory where I investigated the nature of RNA transcription initiation sequences in yeast. This combined with a core curriculum in cognitive science has prepared me for a career of research in the neuroscience field. A long term professional goal that I wish to achieve is to bring to the clinical community better diagnostic tools (and possibly treatments) of both the molecular and cognitive varieties with respect to various brain disorders. @i(George A.
