I don't think I can grant an extension at this late stage just to fix
bugs. 

You should decide between:

- turning it in late, fixing the bugs, and getting a 10% penalty
 or
- turning it in as-is, getting the penalty for bugs, and fixing it later

Which choice is better depends on exactly how buggy you think the
project is.

Remember that it's not due until 5pm.
