Whoa! What a surprise! A very welcome one, however. How have you been,
is MIT treating you all right?

Absolutely you are remembered, in fact, are you going to be in Boston
next weekend, I'm coming up there for my fall break, perhaps if you give me
you're number up there we can meet up.

Life is fine down here, it is already quite cold and the leaves are all
changing. I have not gotten into the frat party scene, so for good
non-drinking fun I tend to go on hikes, camping, playing pool and renting
movies. My weekends are usually very tame but I like it that way. I
personally think the dating scene sucks, but that is just me, as my
roommate (Toni -a very sweet, fun girl, we get along great) and my other
two best friends (Mike and Brian) all already have S.O.s. I get a single
some nights, so I don't mind it. As for my classes, I'm in Diff Eq (which
is kicking my ass, pardon my french, I hate it), Physics E&M, Intro to
Laser Design and Construction (a great class), Weight training, Philosophy
100-Science, Social Values, and Obectivity (another great class), and
Theater 151- which is a few hours a week in the scene shop. Are you a
Computer Science major (I have a feeling this is coming off as a stupid
question)? Are you still doing theater/what sort of stuff are you doing up
there? It is very nice to hear from you. Write back.

        Love,
                Jess

I Want to Walk with You Above the Pines (exerpt)
                        -James Kavanaugh

But most of all I want to love without barriers,
With eyes and laughing hearts singing
And caution abandoned to the clouds by a
                friendly west wind.
I want to feel your presence as my very own, to speak
        to you as though
I am talking to myself, to hold you without fear or
        distance
        Or private thoughts.
So I can walk with you above the pines, scale
        mountians, leap rivers,
Speak to the sun and moon
And make wagers with the stars.
