An overview of the characters in the low-level group, and what the other party members know about them: Actinius (Susan): About 6-1/2' tall human (in a world where the average human male is 6'), high strength, 2-handed sword, body builder (huge muscles and no body fat). He's a magic researcher and spell-caster who has some fighting ability. Comes with a white cockatoo named Dina. Andros (Nick): A vampire/undead researcher who carries real weapons (sword and shield, I think). Short, not-very-muscular mediterranian features. Carsalla (Courtney): 6'3" partially human female. Magic researcher. An enigma with unknown abilities, skills, and background. (Not even she knows.) Has weird, often stormy, nightmares. Looks a little `funny'; something non-human around the cheekbones. Sinks in water. Chedak (Chad): Solid warrior who became a priest of a war god. Hudson (Shabby): Lila's magic-using hawk familiar. [Note: no longer hawk, pc, or party member] Jnar (Zack): Architect by trade, light horseman/infantryman in practice. Has a thiefly reputation in the party. Lila (Jerrod): Hudson's human warrior familiar [no longer]. (I run familiar bonds as being symmetrical.) Formerly Shabby's PC's familiar. A pretty solid light fighter. Moves really fast. Party leader. Regular member of the nation's special forces, but migrated into the high-profile "special" special forces group known as Knights Vigil (the high-level group), and now has her own command (the low-level group). Is a bird trainer, and is rather rangerish. Morra (Sara): When sleeping she does cross-overs to other people's dreams. Usually but not always by physical contact. Kinda famous because she was brutally tortured about a year ago, had her hands cut off, and had a lot of powerful people out to avenge the act. Viewed as sweet and innocent, but is the party thief. Nuar (Karl): Drow warrior -- effective and proud. Swordsmaster. Has a black cat named Timothy, and grudgingly admits to being a spell caster. Sepheryn (Natasha): Vampire hunter. Fights with two daggers, and is somewhat a vampire researcher for the purpose of hunting better. Sophia (Jenwa): Formerly a regular member of the special forces. Retired to private-investigative work. Knew Lila before she retired, and was recruited first for an unofficial mission. Short, sturdy, extremely capable. Vicky (Tannis): Drop-dead-gorgeous priestess of the goddess of pain (Loviattar). A healing specialist (lots of curing ability) who looks for people in pain to cure, so she can channel the intensity of the victim's feeling to her goddess. This healing has a little more pain involved than the usual priestly healing. Her sect of the religion is mostly people who wander around in battlefields curing those near death so (1) they stay alive longer and can feel more pain, and so (2) that pain can be channelled to the goddess. Vicky is small, and pretty ineffective in melee. She prefers to do support magic during fights, like the AD&D "Chant" spell which extends her goddess' presence throughout the area, inflicting extra damage (due to pain) on all enemies, and making them less likely to hit (because of the pain). So far, the party has enthusiastically supported this. Vicky also has extreme expertise at torture and interrogation. She's reluctant to use it, but the party has had her do so twice, without seeming to mind in the slightest (as long as it's for a good cause). Lord Bronitin Artoll (Chad): Very muscular dwarf, reasonably old. Grey hair, clean shaven beard, although he hstill has the moustache, although he *has* had a beard. Mountain dwarf. Very skilled. Ressetra or Resse (NPC): Young, unskilled, naive, very faithful priestess. Homely, clumsy. Brother Nibbitz Feng of the Brotherhood of the Sleeping Beast (Joe Foley). Newly promoted to Journeyman, travelling phase. Specialty is Information Gathering. Also very skilled in spear in sling. For fun I do brewing. Electra/Amber (Tara): Vaguely medditerranian with lighter hair, average height, came out from the west with Carsalla because there are real barbarians here. Cat, named Stevus. Priestes of Apollo. Seems to have lot of brand-new gear that she probably doesn't know how to use. Smith (of Smith and Wesson): powerful archmage. A bit shadowy, shifty. Has helped out the party somewhat. The party in general: pretty much everyone wears dark leather armor. (Chedak would wear something heavier, but doesn't want to limit the party's mobility.) Actinius and Carsalla (possibly a couple -- not sure) seem like the naive nice guys of the party. Maybe Morra, too. In general, the party seems "dark" enough to do whatever is necessary, while being "light" enough to be widely accepted as on the right side, even though they're working for a government run by a lich.
